The Romanian national team drew against the Slovakia national team on matchday 3 of Group E Euro 2024 at the Frankfurt Arena, Wednesday (26/06/2024).
The 2024 European Cup match was exciting and intense and was marked by heavy rain in the second half. Both teams were aiming for victory and attacked each other from start to finish.
Slovakia’s goal was presented by Ondrej Duda. Meanwhile Romania’s goal was scored by Razvan Marin.
This result makes Romania collect four points and they have the right to be at the top of Group E Euro 2024. Slovakia is in third place with a collection of four points as well and they also qualified for the next round with the status as one of the four best third-placed teams.
At the start of the first half, both teams immediately appeared to attack. However, neither of them could immediately plan a dangerous attack.
Opportunities began to be created in the eighth minute via Kucka’s header from a corner kick. Unfortunately his header bounced even though he was in a fairly free position.
In the 11th minute, Romania threatened from Ratiu’s shot, which suddenly appeared on the left wing even though he was in a right-back position. He fired a shot at the far post but the ball was pushed over by goalkeeper Dubravka.
In the 24th minute the goal was finally scored. Duda headed the ball from Pekarik’s cross from the right flank. He directed the ball to the left side of the goal. Nice! 1-0!
In the 34th minute an incident occurred in the Slovakia penalty box. Hagi, who was trying to enter the penalty box, was seen being tackled by Hancko. After seeing the replay from VAR, the referee finally gave Romania a penalty. Three minutes later Razvan carried out the execution perfectly. 1-1!
In the remaining time, both teams attacked each other. But in the end no additional goals were scored. Slovakia 1-1 Romania.
In the second half, Slovakia and Romania again clashed with each other. The match was tough.
In the 59th minute, Romania had a neat opportunity. Razvan had space to shoot but it was still blocked by Dubravka. Dragus grabbed the rebound but his shot bounced slightly off target.
In the 64th minute, Slovakia got a chance. Strelec opened fire from the front of the penalty box. Nita almost took a wrong step but with her left foot she was still able to stop the ball.
The two teams then changed players and tactics. However, the match was still going quite tough. The tempo of the game even finally decreased.
In the end no additional goals were scored. Slovakia 1-1 Romania.
