Spain La Liga Results: Barcelona Beat Getafe

Barcelona defeated Getafe by a score of 2-1 in the Spanish League match at Camp Nou on Saturday (15/2).

Quique Setien as usual instructed possession of the ball to Lionel Messi et al. Meanwhile, Getafe under the direction of coach Jose Bordalas played hard from the first minute of the match.

Barcelona get the chance first after Lionel Messi escaped the offside trap in the 14th minute. However, Lionel Messi’s attack can still be secured by Getafe goalkeeper, David Soria.

Getafe who played hard got the first warning from the referee after Allan Nyom violated Ansu Fati. The referee issued his first yellow card to Getafe coach Jose Bordalas in the 18th minute due to the player’s excessive protest.

Six minutes later, Sergi Roberto was able to double the advantage. Roberto fired hard from inside the penalty box after receiving a cross from Junior Firpo.

Two goals ahead in the first round, Barcelona continues to try to increase attacks. But it was Getafe who managed to steal the goal first in the second half.

Angel Rodriguez who came on for Jorge Molina in the 52nd minute was able to thrill the Barcelona goal in the 66th minute. Starting from a cross Jaime Mata, Rodriguez fired a volley that slid into the left side of goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Six minutes later, Rodriguez had a great opportunity to equalize. However, a close-range shot by Rodriguez was successfully countered by Ter Stegen.

Barcelona has the opportunity to re-widen the distance if Antoine Griezmann’s hard kick does not go far from the Getafe goal. With three minutes of extra time remaining in the second half, Getafe is still able to provide fierce resistance to Barcelona. However, no additional goals were created until the Barcelona vs Getafe match in Week 24 of the Spanish League ended with a score of 2-1.

With the results of this Spain La Liga League, Barcelona are still sticking closely to Real Madrid in second place standings with 52 points. Meanwhile, Getafe is ranked third in the Spain La Liga League standings with 42 points.
