Spain La Liga results: Madrid won 3-1 over Celta Vigo

Real madrid won 3-1 over Celta Vigo in the match week 28 of the Spain La Liga at the Abanca Balaidos Stadium, Saturday (21/3).

In the 20th minute Madrid took the lead through Karim Benzema after receiving Toni Kroos’ pass. Benzema was not closely guarded by the Celta players when he got the ball from Kroos.

The French attacker immediately released a measured right-footed shot to the lower left of Celta’s goal without being anticipated by goalkeeper Ivan Villar.

Celta almost equalized in the 23rd minute if Santi Mina’s header from Nestor Araujo’s free-kick didn’t fly narrowly over the Thibaut Courtois bar.

Vinicius Junior wasted Madrid’s golden opportunity to double his position in the 26th minute. Benzema cross from the right side Vinicius finished with the chest. Finally, the ball just flew over the bar even though Vinicius was already in front of Celta’s goal.

Benzema scored his second goal of the match in the 30th minute after Renato Tapia made a mistake. Tapia failed to control the ball well, which Kroos won. The wild ball that was still moving in the penalty box was controlled by Benzema and the goal was completed.

Santi Mina failed to take advantage of Celta’s neat opportunity to score again. In the 32nd minute, Mina tried to complete Iago Aspas’ pass with a right heel, but the ball rolled on the right side of the Madrid goal.

In the 40th minute, Santi Mina did not waste another golden opportunity from Celta Vigo. Denis Suarez’s free kick was greeted by Mina’s header which led to a goal. Celta reduced the position to 1-2 in the first half.

Thibaut Courtois’ important save was made in the 62nd minute. Aspas’ hard kick from close range was pushed over by Courtois.

An attempt from Iago Aspas with a free kick in the 83rd minute has yet to produce results. Aspas’ left-footed shot is saved by Casemiro, the ball hits the post and only results in a corner.

Substitute Facundo Ferreyra also could not change the score in the 90th minute. Casemiro’s operand on Aspas to Ferreyra can still be thwarted.

Shortly before the match broke up, Marco Asensio broke into Celta’s goal while bringing Madrid to a 3-1 win over Celta. On the counter-attack in the 90 + 4 minute, Asensio gave the ball to Benzema.

Benzema then dribbled on the left side of the attack into the opponent’s penalty box, then fired a cross to Asensio which was completed as a goal.
