Spain vs Georgia Euro Cup 2024 Results: Score 4-1

The Spanish national team successfully defeated the Georgian national team in the last 16 match of Euro 2024 at the RheinEnergieStadion, Sunday (30/06/2024).

The 2024 European Cup match is dominated by Spain. They dominated the game even though Georgia made a surprise.

Spain’s goals were scored by Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. Georgia’s goal resulted from Robin Le Normand’s own suicide.

With this result, Spain advances to the quarter-finals and will meet Germany. Meanwhile, Georgians can now order plane tickets to return to their country.

As soon as the match started, Georgia seemed to be trying to provide a surprise. However, they struggled to even get the ball through the midfield. The ball can always be won by a Spanish player. After that La Furia Roja continued to pressure the opponent’s defense.

In the fourth minute, Spain got a chance from Pedri’s action. He tried to slide to meet Carvajal’s pass. However, Mamardashvili could still thwart this opportunity.

In the 10th minute Spain had another chance. This time, from a corner kick on the right, Carvajal headed the ball towards the near post. Mamardashvili could still stop the ball heading towards the goal.

But Georgia then made a surprise. From a counter-attack in the 17th minute, Robin Le Normand scored an own goal. He misanticipated a cross from the right wing. 0-1!

Spain continued to pound Georgia’s defense. Fabian Ruiz’s hard kick was blocked by Mamardashvili while Pedri’s shot still bounced off target.

In the 34th minute, Cucurella attempted a long-range shot from the left halfspace. However, Mamardashvili could still counter this opportunity.

In the 37th minute, Spain got another chance, this time Nico Williams shot from close range, after receiving a pass from Yamal. But again, the ball was blocked by Mamardashvili.

Georgia’s goal was finally broken in the 38th minute. After receiving feedback from Nico on the left side, Rodri fired a left footed shot. The ball went to the left side of Mamardashvili’s goal. 1-1!

After that no additional goals were scored. Spain 1-1 Georgia.

In the second half, the Spanish national team of course tried to press again. Georgia was forced to defend.

Spain finally scored a goal in the 52nd minute. Lamine Yamal released a cross from the right flank. Fabian Ruiz headed the ball towards the far post in a free position. 2-1!

In the 62nd minute, Kochorasvili made the wrong pass. The ball actually went to Lamine Yamal in front of the penalty box. Yamal then fired a left footed shot but unfortunately his shot went wide of the target.

In the 73rd minute, Spain launched a counterattack from the left flank. The ball was then taken by Nico Williams from the middle of the field and into the penalty box. After passing an opposing player, he immediately fired a shot that Mamardashvili couldn’t stop. 3-1!

In the 79th minute, Spain had another chance. Yamal was able to enter the penalty box and get space to shoot after collaborating with Dani Olmo. However, his shot was blocked by Mamardashvili.

In the 83rd minute, Spain successfully scored another goal. This time, Dani Olmo’s left foot shot from outside the penalty box after outwitting an opposing player. 4-1!

Spain then continued to try to find additional goals even though they had won big. But they couldn’t break through Georgia’s goal again.

In the end, Spain was successful in sending Georgia home after winning with a score of 4-1.
