Stealing Points at Leeds Headquarters, Arsenal Sturdy at the Top of EPL

Arsenal managed to solidify its position at the top of the Premier League standings after winning a narrow victory at Leeds headquarters.

Arsenal who appeared with a full squad managed to win with a score of 0-1 at Elland Road.

The Leeds United vs Arsenal match is presented on week 11, the match will be held on Sunday (16/10/2022).

This match had been stopped for a long time due to technical problems at the stadium, namely referee communication problems.

Arsenal took the lead thanks to Bukayo Saka’s goal.

Leeds had the opportunity to equalize the score, unfortunately Patrick Bamford’s penalty failed to become a goal.

The game has only been running for two minutes, referee Chris Kavanagh stopped the game because there was a communication problem on the match equipment.

The match was finally suspended due to a power outage at Elland Road.

The match was finally able to resume half an hour later.

The game is fairly balanced. Leeds and Arsenal both had opportunities to open the scoring.

However, nothing has been maximized into goals.

Arsenal finally took the lead through Saka’s goal in the 35th minute.

Receiving feedback from Odegaard, Saka fired a right footed shot that Illan Meslier couldn’t stop.

Arsenal’s 1-0 advantage lasted until halftime.

Returning from the dressing room, Bamford, who had just entered, immediately scored.

However, this goal was annulled by the referee because Bamford was considered the first to violate Gabriel Magalhaes.

The 60th minute, the Leeds players asked for a penalty after William Saliba was deemed to have done handball in the forbidden box.

After reviewing VAR, Kavanagh also pointed to the spot.

Leeds squandered a golden opportunity to equalize because Bamford’s penalty was actually narrowly wide of the target.

The score was still 1-0 for Arsenal’s advantage.

Moments before the game was over, Leeds was awarded a penalty and Gabriel was given a red card for violating Bamford.

However, after checking VAR, the field court overturned his decision.

Leeds efforts to catch up did not produce results until the long whistle sounded.

Arsenal also managed to bring home victory from Elland Road.

Thanks to this result, Arsenal further cemented itself at the top of the standings with 27 points.

Meanwhile, Leeds is ranked 15th with 9 points.

Arsenal are now four points away from Manchester City in second place.
