Stopping Mbappe is not a guarantee that United can stop Messi

Stopping Mbappe is not a guarantee that United can stop Messi

A warning given by Alan Shearer to Manchester United. The legendary striker believes the Red Devils must work extra hard if they want to beat Barcelona in the Champions League.

Manchester United get another heavy draw in the Champions League. This time they have to face the La Liga champions, Barcelona to fight for a ticket to the Champions League semi-final this season.

But United itself has a good experience. They managed to beat PSG in the last 16 of the Champions League, where they managed to silence the best young players in the world today, Kylian Mbappe.

Shearer believes that the same situation will be difficult to create when facing Messi. “Manchester United made a very good performance when they visited PSG headquarters,” Shearer told Coral.

Confidence
Shearer admitted that MU’s victory in the city of Paris was a huge victory.

For that victory will be a good capital for their team to face Barcelona later.

“The 3-1 victory will give them the confidence that they are able to defeat Barcelona. But to achieve that, they must be able to stop Lionel Messi.”

Heavy duty
Shearer insisted that United did a very good job when silencing Kylian Mbappe’s movement in the last 16 yesterday.

But he insisted that Messi had a much better ability than Mbappe so that United had to work extra hard so La Pulga did not move.

“They managed to make Kylian Mbappe silent in Paris, but they must know that Messi is at a different level than Mbappe. I think they will undergo a very difficult task to stop Messi.” he said.
