On the 22nd of August at the Vicente Calderon in Madrid the sparks were flashing the whole night. The final match of the Spanish Super Cup competitionwonthe team that showed better game that night – Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone expressed his content and praise for Griezmann after excellent pass in the Supercopa match on Friday. Griezmann affirmed that he started to feel comfortable and that slowly, step by step, he will go earning confidence and training as hard as he could. He also expressed his enthusiasm for the great support of the Atletico Madrid fans.
In the first period the ‘royal club’ had several of chances trying to score the goal. Two goal chances experienced James Rodrigues and an exquisite chance was missed by Gareth Bale, also.

Before beating Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid was better than Barcelona in the Supercopa in 1985. Both of the clubs were dominating on the football scene in Spain and Europe. Atletico won his first title in Primera after 18 years and Real Madrid in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Having won the match on the Estadio Vicente Calderon, Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone showed that they are going to play big this season. Also, that they are not going to step backwards in the matches with Real and became a big competition in Spain.
