Test123 Must be Disqualified from Chongqing Major After Securing South American Regional Qualification Slot

A qualification certainly presents strong strength in each of its regions. After the presence of a qualification system, each team has the potential to fight in the official arena of Valve, either minor or major level. Then, a very unique case is present in the Latin American region. A team of North American (NA) players successfully secured their place towards the Chongqing Major 2019 event.

Yes, the team that contains the ex-paiN X roster has become a byword after escaping with players who are predominantly from outside Latin America. Not only that, this was even more surprising after a long stretch of captain NiP, Peter “ppd” Dager.

The fact began to unfold after PPD on his Twitter account revealed that what was done by CCnCs and friends was fraudulent. The former Evil Geniuses player said that the entire test123 team (ex-paiN X) only settled in Brazil for 2 weeks. After that they will return to their homes in the United States.

Valve seems to have been triggered to investigate this problem after the captain of the Ninja in Pajamas Peter “ppd” Dager made a long tweet on TwitLonger regarding slots for South American regional qualifier. In the tweet, PPD mentioned about his team that he had asked whether he was allowed to qualify in the region and was immediately rejected.

By way of ‘outsmarting’ the qualifications, where the Latin American region is perceived to be easier than North America. The fact that the team that played at the Major 2018 KL was able to get a place. No half-hearted, the ex-paiN X roster beat the first team, paiN Gaming with a score of 2-1. While paiN Gaming played in the final lower bracket and beat Thunder Predator with a score of 2-0.

In the ex-paiN X team, only one player from Latin American land, namely Liposa, from Brazil.

However, the way to outsmart ex-paiN X is considered to be unnatural after only staying for several days to qualify. Then, Valve gave direct disqualification to the ex-paiN X team. They added that this treatment could hurt esports development in Latin American land. Valve want paiN-X to really live and compete in South America with the aim that the level of competition in the region is growing, unfortunately the experience on the field is different.

Peter also said that the SA regional slot may only be for the SA region itself. As a result, the lost ex-paiN X slot will be replaced by the Thunder Predator team which is a Dota 2 team from Peru. So with this result, Latin America will be represented by paiN Gaming and Thunder Predator. Chongqing Major 2019 itself is still taking place in the qualification stage for the NA, EU and finally China.

On the other hand, one of the analysts / statisticians / hosts of Dota 2, Alan “Nahaz” Bester also commented on his official Twitter about this case. Broadly speaking Nahaz revealed that ex-paiN X had received a direct invite for the Chongqing Major Qualification in South America. If Valve had contacted them three months earlier why was it just being investigated and had to be disqualified now, even after they managed to secure the slot.

What really happened in the middle of Dota 2’s competitive scene? if it is on the ex-paiN X side, surely the heartache, after the struggle to secure the main slot must just disappear. But back again if you follow the policies of the organizers who have decisions above everything. Don’t know what happened to Valve and all of those involved in the Dota 2 competitive scene, hopefully in the future nothing like this will happen.
