Thailand U-23 National Team Manager Is Upset after Lose 1-0 to Vietnam U-23 in Final Match

Vietnam U-23 national team on last Saturday won the men’s football gold medal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games after beating Thailand 1-0 in the final. It was Nham Manh Dung (82’) who became the only goal scorer in that match.

Speaking at his press conference, Thailand manager, Mano Polking, admitted that Vietnam played well and won well.

Polking said Thailand played better when controlling the ball and controlling the game, while Vietnam only played long balls.

“I’m not happy because I don’t want to lose, but Thailand must continue to win the match.” Polking said.

“Vietnam has the advantage of home ground, being cheered by a large number of fans throughout the match. This team has 3 months of training together have a good strategy.

“Thailand played well, so did Vietnam. We had the idea of ​​​​playing the ball and a clear formation structure, controlling the ball and having a chance to score, but we lost the game. That is football.

“Vietnam mainly plays long balls thanks to a long training process and has a beautiful goal in this match,” Polking added.

Polking also admitted that Vietnam has a good football manager. he said Park Hang Seo’s performance must be appreciated.

“Thailand only had 1 day of preparation and practice. I am proud of their performance.” Polking said.

“To talk about the coaching profession, it is difficult to compare people. this with someone else. Each coach has a different model and philosophy. I respect Mr. Park. He and I have different philosophies. We all want to win.

“I admire him and Vietnamese football. I’m just disappointed that I didn’t have time to prepare for this match. We had a chance, but we didn’t take it.” Polking added.
