Anthony Davis scored an incredible 55 points, in addition to picking up 17 rebounds and giving three blocks. Inspired, the pivot converted 22 pitches in 30 attempts and did not miss any of the nine free throws charged.
Davis repeated a feat he had not achieved since 2018 with the 55 points scored in the Lakers’ win over the Wizards,
In the triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks, on Friday, the playmaker exploded to 40 points. That way, there were two games in a row with 40 points or more.
Davis became the first Lakers player since Kobe Bryant in 2013 to have back-to-back 40+ point appearances. However, the historic night of shirt 3 did not stop there.
He is only the second player with 55 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in one night since the 1973/74 season, when blocks started counting. Thus, he teamed up with Kevin McHale.
Davis also became the fifth player to score 50+ points this NBA season. In addition to him, Joel Embiid has already scored 59 points, Devin Booker and Darius Garland 51 and, finally, Stephen Curry with a game of 50 points.
However, Davis boosted the Lakers’ win over the Wizards, being responsible for almost half of the team’s points.
While LeBron James also had a great performance with 29 points. Lonnie Walker, then, was also one of the big scorers of the night, with 20 scored.
The Wizards, on the other hand, didn’t have a bad match. After all, even with the historic night of the opposing player, the home team was 11 points behind.
Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma, by the way, were the main names of the team commanded by Wes Unseld Jr. Together, they added up to 53 points, but even though they were Washington’s top scorers, they scored less than Davis.
