The Premier League operator previously announced that the match against Crystal Palace was postponed amidst a busy schedule.
The Red Devils – nicknamed Manchester United – were supposed to face Crystal Palace last September. However, the match had to be postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
After a long wait, the certainty of the postponed match schedule was announced recently. While Erik Ten Hag’s team is having a busy week.
Man United is still participating in four competitions this season. Finally, they made it to the fourth round of the FA Cup after winning 3-1 over Everton on Saturday, January 8.
Three days later, they will again have to face the quarter-finals of the 2022-2023 English League Cup against Charlton on Wednesday, January 11. Then, three days later they had to compete again.
Manchester United will face Manchester City in the 2022-2023 Premier League on January 14, 2023. Marcus Rashford and colleagues should have had some rest before the match against Arsenal on January 22, 2023.
However, it was announced that the postponed match against Crystal Palace would be held on Thursday, 19 January 2023. This means that overall, they have to play 4 matches in 12 days.
The Premier League also feels the frustration of Manchester United seeing this schedule. But alas, they had to schedule it all in this unique situation.
“The Premier League apologises for the delay in notification in confirming this match and understands the frustration of supporters,” read their statement quoted on the Sportbible page, Monday (9/1/2023).
“While the League endeavours to provide greater notice for rescheduling, the unique circumstances surrounding this match meant we were unable to do so.”
