The fantastic contract from Al Nassr has made Cristiano Ronaldo now the highest paid footballer. In fact, the annual fee that CR7 receives is almost twice that of Lionel Messi.

The Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, left the glamourous European football behind and chose Saudi Arabia as his new destination. Ronaldo accepted the proposal of the Saudi Arabian League club, Al Nassr, with a fantastic contract value.

Al Nassr tied Ronaldo up to 2025 with a contract worth 214 million USD per year. The giant contract has made Ronaldo now the highest-paid footballer in the world. No other footballer in the world has more contracts than Ronaldo, including three Paris Saint-Germain stars, namely Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr)

Accepting a 2.5-year contract offer from Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to pocket US$214 million per year including commercial deals. The contract value was 10 times more than what he received in the second period of defending Manchester United. When he returned to Man United in 2021, Ronaldo reportedly received a fee of US $ 31 million per year.

Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

Kylian Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG last year. He extended his tenure for Les Parisiens until 2025. With his new contract, Mbappe receives a total fee per year of US$128 million. Apart from the big contract from PSG, Mbappe’s income also comes from endorsements and various other sources.

Lionel Messi (PSG)

Neymar (PSG)

Of PSG’s expensive trio, Neymar is the player with the lowest annual fee. Neymar’s annual income is currently estimated at US$87 million.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Rank five in the list of the highest paid footballers for 2023 is occupied by Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian winger extended his contract with Liverpool in July last year and became the Reds’ highest-paid player. In his new contract which will expire in 2025, Mo Salah gets a salary of US$485,000 per week. For total income per year, the money that enters Mohamed Salah’s account is estimated at US $ 53 million
