There is only one week left in the Knockout Stage of the Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia (FFWS) 2024 Fall. This means that the fate of five Indonesian teams to advance to the Grand Finals will be at stake on September 27-29. Will all Indonesian teams be able to get a slot to the Grand Finals in Surabaya?
In Week 5 of the Knockout Stage of the FFWS SEA 2024 Fall on the weekend of September 20-22, 2024, RRQ Kazu became the best team from Indonesia after finishing in #4 position in the standings with a total of 821 points. They were followed by Evos Divine (#8) with 675 points and Bigetron Delta (#9) with 674 points. These three teams managed to secure their qualifications to the Grand Finals of the FFWS SEA 2024 Fall in Surabaya on October 11-13, 2024.
“For us, the main goal in the Knockout Stage is not to dominate the standings, but to try to find the right formula and qualify for the Grand Finals. I hope that other Indonesian teams that are still struggling can also qualify for Surabaya so that we can together show that Indonesian teams are better than they think, especially playing in front of their own supporters,” said Muhammad Darmawan (Manggiskun), Coach of EVOS Divine.
On the other hand, ONIC Olympus and Star Knight Esports are still trying to qualify for the final round. Both of them, may even have to trip each other up to lock in the top 12 positions. ONIC Olympus is currently perched in position #12 with a total of 527 points, slightly ahead of P Esports from Vietnam in position #13 with 515 points. The team nicknamed ‘Yellow Porcupine’ needs to go all out to ensure they don’t lose their Grand Finals seat which could be taken at any time by the Vietnamese team.
“For me personally, this might be the first experience where I bring a team whose position is not safe enough. But I think this is a challenge that I and this team need, so that we can learn to break through our own limits, and reach the next level. We believe we have learned a lot in the previous weeks and now we are ready to give our best in the final week of FFWS SEA 2024 Fall,” said Ahmad Fadly (AFM), Coach ONIC Olympus.
Meanwhile, Star Knight Esports is still in 15th place with a total of 473 points. At the very least, they must close the gap of 51 with ONIC Olympus to be able to qualify for Surabaya. They also have to compete with other teams such as HEAVY (494) from Vietnam and TODAK (468) from Malaysia who both still want the last seat in the Grand Finals round.
The Overall Standing standings until Week 5 are still dominated by teams from Thailand. Buriram United Esports is once again a threat after securing the top position and becoming the first team in FFWS SEA 2024 Fall to reach a total of 1,012 points. All Gamers Global (917 points), Twisted Minds (831 points), and Team Falcons (778) from Thailand follow Buriram United Esports by occupying ranks #2, #3, and #5. Meanwhile, Attack All Around is the Thai team with the lowest position, namely position #7 with a total of 739 points.
