Tiger Woods has tweeted a video of him driving with a full swing, with the caption ‘making progress’.
The video is the latest that Woods has posted on social media as he works towards a return to professional golf after a back operation in April.
The 14-time major winner recently said that it was possible he would never play again, such is the pain that his injuries have caused him.
But his recent videos have shown that he is still hopeful of a return. As well as Sunday’s video, he also posted a video on Tuesday of him practising with Kevin Chappell and a video on October 7 of him hitting irons on the course.
Discussing his possible return on the eve of the Presidents Cup last month – at which he was a non-playing assistant captain – Woods said: “Overall I’m very optimistic, how I’m progressing. It’s a process, and I’m in no hurry.
“I didn’t know if I was going to be able to be here, because I couldn’t ride in a cart. The bouncing hurt too much. That’s all gone now, which is fantastic.
“But I don’t know what my golfing body is going to be like, because I haven’t hit a golf shot yet.
“So, that’s going to take time to figure that out and to figure out what my capabilities are going forward – and there’s no rush.”
Woods last played at the Dubai Desert Classic in January. He withdrew after suffering back spasms.
