The multi-time golf champion, Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident this morning, as reported by the Sheriff’s Department of the County of Los Angeles, city where the accident took place.
It was through the official Twitter account of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Departement (LACSD) the accident was made known, of which they were notified around 7:12 local time.
LACSD assured that it was a rollover of the car that suffered significant damage, in which only the golfer was traveling. The mishap took place on the borders of Rolling Hills States and Rancho Palo Verdes, when he was traveling from Hawthorne Boulevard to Blackhorse Road.
LACSD also reported that firefighters and paramedics were able to remove the golfer from the wrecked car with hydraulic tools, to take him by ambulance to a hospital.
At the moment his current state of health is unknown. It is known that the main injuries that Woods showed were in the legs. The causes of the accident are already being investigated by the corresponding department.
“Tiger has a long-term partnership with Discovery developing exclusive content for GOLFTV and Golf Digest.” Discovery Golf said in a statement.
“He was filming his latest series with us yesterday, which will see him giving on-course instruction to a number of celebrities including Jada Pinkett Smith, Dwyane Wade and David Spade. He was due to continue filming with us today.” they added.
Woods, 45, lives in Florida, in the Jupiter area, but traveled to Los Angeles to host a tournament for the PGA Tour organised by the former world number one, called the Riviera Genesis Invitational.
The last public appearance of Woods was last Sunday, in an interview with CBS television, on the last day of the Genesis Invitational, a tournament in which he did not participate after undergoing surgery for the fifth time on his back.
