Tito Rabat has revealed he felt more comfortable with his Ducati MotoGP bike during the Argentina GP. The 28-year-old Spaniard finished seventh on Sunday in Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit and is happy with the progress Desmosedici is making.
“I feel very good, we did a very good job over the weekend, we were fast in the dry and also fast on wet tyres on a dry track.” Rabat said.
“In the wet this morning it was a little bit more difficult in the race, we made a normal start, then I could stay a little bit with the front group but after, they went.” Rabat added.
Rabat joined Avintia Racing team at the start of 2018 season. After going through a difficult season with Marc Honda VDS, he proved his impressive performance with Ducati in the first and second rounds this season.
“I stayed with the second group, Valentino and Vinales passed me and I tried to follow but it was not possible I was close to crashing. I said, ‘Tito, calm, try your best’ and we pushed until the end. It was a hard race because I had to push, push, and push, and it was very close.” Rabat said.
“After you’ve been in the front group, you see a lot of things that you can tell them because it is things you normally don’t see. I learned a lot in the race having seen the front guys and I’ll try to improve for the next one.” former Moto2 world champion added.

Avintia Racing boss Raul Romero on the other hand, he praised Rabat after finishing seventh at Argentina Grand Prix on April 9. He also said he was very happy with Rabat’s performance.
“We’re very happy. Tito started fourth, it wasn’t actually that much of an advantage starting fourth because the grid was unusual with Miller, but he had a great race.” Romero said.
“When he moved up to MotoGP, I wanted him to move up with us. He didn’t do that because he was in different team and he thought the Honda was the best bike, having always been looking at Marquez as the example.
“I told him he wasn’t going to get Marquez or Pedrosa’s bike and that he was more a Ducati rider. It look him a while to realise.” Romero added.
Rabat started his professional career in motor racing in 2005. At that time he joined Honda in the 125cc class. In 2011, he moved to Moto2 class and managed to become Moto2 world champion in 2014 alongside Kalex team, and finally joined premier class in 2016.
