Tito Rabat will replace Tom Sykes within the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Team for the remainder of the 2023 season.
Kawasaki Puccetti Racing and Rabat are no strangers to each other, they have already worked together for four race weekends, namely 2021 during the race weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and in 2022 during the race weekends at Portimao, San Juan Villicum and on Mandalika International Street circuit in Indonesia.
“I am happy to return to Team Puccetti and Kawasaki. This is a great opportunity for me to get back into WorldSBK but also to keep up the race pace, because this year I will also be competing in the MotoE championship where there are not that many races.” Rabat said.
“I will try to make the most of this opportunity and help Manuel Puccetti’s team develop their bike further.
“I’ve had great times with this team and there’s a lot of mutual respect, so I think now is a good time to rejoin them and have more success.” Rabat added.
In 2016 Rabat switched to MotoGP, where he was active until 2021. He then decided to switch to WorldSBK, a championship in which he has completed 35 races so far and scored a total of 53 World Championship points.
This season he will compete in both the MotoE World Championship and the Spanish ESBK 1000, in which he became champion in 2022.
“I am delighted to announce the return of Tito Rabat to our team. In both 2021 and 2022, the Spaniard had to fill in for an injured rider, which is never easy, and he rode without a chance to test, so without knowing our bike.” Kawasaki boss Manuel Puccetti said.
“Despite that, Tito has always proved to be the professional par excellence, with extensive experience in both the Moto2 and MotoGP championships.” he added.
