Toni Kroos has extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2023. Former Bayern Munich player is one of the greatest players in recent years. The German midfielder has been linked to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, but Madrid has cut short all rumours.
Speaking to media, Kroos expressed his delight at the new contract and is looking forward to seeing what the next chapter of his Madrid story will bring.
“I’m delighted. I hope to be here for many years and to achieve much more. We’ll start next season with real desire and motivation to do a better job. I’m thrilled to have renewed my contract. I want to be here for years to come and I’m hoping for many more successes. It’s a very special day.” Kross said.
“I’ve been here for five years, I’ve been in Madrid for a while now as a player and as a person and I’m extremely happy. I want to change the dynamic of this last season and have more success. We know how that works, we’ve shown it in previous years and I’m sure we can do so again.” Kroos added.
Kroos joined Madrid from Bayern in 2014. He has won numerous trophies, including three consecutive Champions Leagues. In all, he has already played a total of 233 matches under Los Blancos. The 29-year old midfielder definitely wants to do better next season with his team.
“I used to believe winning three consecutive Champions Leagues would be impossible but we’ve shown it can be done. It’s true what the president said back in 2014, and we’re aiming for more successes full of desire and motivation following a campaign like this. We’ll be competing in every competition next season.” Kroos said.
“We have to rest our bodies and our minds so we can then begin the season with real hunger and the motivation to do better.” Kroos added.

Asked about his manager Zinedine Zidane, Kroos said: “He was a great player and he helps us a lot as a coach because of the experience he has of every situation out on the pitch.”
“He understands the dressing room, he’s got a nice idea of how the game should be played, which I like. I like to control the ball, to press high. We’ve won a lot and I hope we can get back to doing so even more.” he added.
