Tottenham Hotspur won 6-2 over Leicester City in the seventh week of the Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Saturday (17/9) evening.
Leicester scored first. The movement of James Justin was tackled by Davinson Sanchez in the penalty box. Youri Tielemans took the penalty, but Hugo Lloris was able to anticipate it. The penalty turned out to be repeated because Lloris moved before the ball was kicked. Tielemans scored on a repeated penalty. Leicester lead 1-0 in the 6th minute
Tottenham reacted quickly. The Foxes’ advantage only lasted two minutes. The hosts equalized in the eighth minute through Harry Kane’s header which utilized Dejan Kulusevski’s assist.
Entering the 22nd minute Tottenham turned ahead. Corner kick from Ivan Perisic completed well by Eric Dier.
Four minutes later, again from a corner, Tottenham scored again. But this time the referee annulled because Davinson Sanchez was judged to have violated the goalkeeper.
Leicester did a slick counter-attack. James Maddison equalized in the 40th minute after receiving a pass from Timothy Castagne.
Two minutes into the second half, Rodrigo Bentancur brought Tottenham back ahead. Bentancur snatched the ball that was being controlled by Wilfred Ndidi. With the acceleration completed with a kick, Bentancur made the score 3-2.
In the 59th minute Antonio Conte pulled Richarlison and replaced him with Son Heung Min.
The South Korean player then scored in the 73rd minute with a right footed shot from outside the penalty box.
Son showed sharpness in the 84th minute. This time it was the turn of the left footed goal from outside the penalty box that made the ball go in and change the score to 5-2.
Only two minutes later, Son again changed the score. Receiving the area ball from Kane, Son then came in and finished.
Score 6-2 for Tottenham did not change until the referee blew the final whistle. The Lilywhites are second in the standings. This London team pocketed the same points as Manchester City, but lost on goal difference.
