Football has always given fans and spectators something to cheer and discuss about both on the field and off it. Rightly so, the sport is always surrounded with scintillating news and shocking rumors that keep the supporters on the edge day by day. One of the most recent words that is making the news is that Neymar Jr. could be heading to Manchester United this summer.
The Brazilian Star who is currently signed with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) could be up in talks for a likely transfer to the red side. Several inside sources have claimed that Manchester United have been approached by intermediaries about signing Neymar from PSG this summer. Though, there have been several rumors about numerous other clubs who are vying to get Neymar on their side, when Manchester United’s name comes into the scene, fans might just expect this to happen.
There is no denying that Manchester United has been one of the most successful football clubs in the world and have seen countless legends play for their side in the past including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, just to name a few. Erik ten Hag’s side has been one of the most respected teams in the history of the sport with a loyal fanbase that is paralleled by very few.
Coming to the crux, if the rumors of a Neymar-United signing is to be true, then the English club would have to pull out a hefty paycheck to get the star onboard who had previously signed a five-year contract with PSG for a whopping £220m. The transfer took place in 2017 as Neymar moved from Barcelona to PSG.
If Neymar’s transfer to Manchester United does indeed happen, it would be a big blow to Paris Saint-Germain since the club is already set to see forward Lionel Messi leave the club at the end of the season, and apparently, PSG is in no plans to offer the Argentine Legend a new contract.
What’s really interesting to note here is that both Neymar and Messi have previously been teammates while playing for Barcelona and coincidentally also ended up playing for PSG together, and now, both the players are likely to leave the club at the same time!
