Team Tundra Esports, managed to become champions at FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025 after making an incredible comeback! Whitemon et al managed to turn the tables from a 0-2 defeat to a 3-2 victory over their main rivals, Team Falcons, in the grand final of the tournament on Monday (February 3).
Tundra learned a lot from their tough Group Stage run, defeating HEROIC in three games in the upper bracket quarterfinals, then sweeping Team Spirit in the upper bracket semifinals to advance to the upper bracket finals. Falcons took a similar path, defeating Team Liquid in three games before sweeping BetBoom Team to earn their first matchup with Tundra of the tournament.
Tundra continued their momentum in the upper bracket finals with back-to-back 2-0 wins in the Playoffs to become the first team to reach the grand finals. However, Falcons quickly rebounded with a win of their own over PARIVISION in the lower bracket finals and earned a rematch with Tundra in the final round.
Tundra Esports staged a stunning comeback on Sunday, taking a 3-2 victory over Team Falcons in the grand finals of the Fissure Playground #1 event in Belgrade, Serbia. The Falcons had a 2-0 lead with wins at 67 minutes and 50 minutes, but Tundra came back with wins at 44 minutes, 25 minutes, and 30 minutes to stun the Falcons.
With this win, Tundra takes home the top prize of $400,000 out of the $1 million prize pool at FISSURE PLAYGROUND. The team recently underwent a roster overhaul in early January with the additions of Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov, making them a strong contender for the best Dota 2 team in the world right now.
