Türkiye vs Portugal Euro 2024 results : Score 0-3

The Portuguese national team successfully won their second victory at Euro 2024. Against the Turkish national team, the Selecao won with a landslide score of 3-0.

The Portuguese national team took the lead in this match thanks to Bernardo Silva’s goal and Samet Akaydin’s own goal in the first half. Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes sealed Portugal’s victory with a goal in the second half.

Thanks to this result, the Portuguese national team is certain to qualify for the last 16 of Euro 2024. Meanwhile, Turkey had to settle for being stuck in second place with three points.

The match which was held at Signal Iduna Park started with quite high intensity. Because both teams appeared to be attacking from the start of the match.

Just two minutes into the game, Portugal created a chance through Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-range shot. However, Bayindir managed to secure the ball easily.

Four minutes later, it was Türkiye’s turn to create a golden opportunity. Zeki Celik made a neat cross, but unfortunately Kerem Akturkoglu failed to reach the ball.

The Portuguese national team finally opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Starting from Rafael Leao’s pass from the left side which the Turkish defender misanticipated, the ball landed near Bernardo Silva’s feet and without difficulty he threw the ball into the Turkish goal. Portugal leads 1-0 in this match.

Seven minutes later, Portugal’s goal was broken again. This time Samet Akaydin made a communication error when making a backpass to Altay Bayindir, so the ball went into the Turkish goal. Portugal leads 2-0 in this match.

After the goal, Türkiye stepped on the gas again. In the 32nd minute, Kerem Akturkoglu created a neat opportunity with his shot so Diogo Costa had to make a neat save to stop the opportunity.

The intensity of the match is getting hotter. In the last 10 minutes of the first half, the referee had to issue four yellow cards because the match tension was heating up. The 2-0 score lasted until halftime.

At half-time, Portugal made two substitutions. Joao Palhinha and Rafael Leao were withdrawn and replaced by Ruben Neves and Pedro Neto.

The intensity of the match in the second half did not decrease. Both teams traded attacks.

Exactly 10 minutes after the second half started, Portugal widened the position to 3-0. Escaping the offside trap, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was facing one-on-one against Bayindir, preferred to give a pass to Bruno Fernandes rather than executing the ball himself, and Fernandes had no trouble hitting the ball into the Turkish goal. Portugal leads 3-0 in this match.

This goal made the Portuguese national team even more enthusiastic about attacking. However, Türkiye also didn’t want to just give up and they tried to put up resistance.

One of the efforts made by Vincenzo Montella to catch up with Real Madrid was to introduce Arda Guler in the 70th minute.

However, until the second half ended, the score remained 3-0 for Portugal’s victory. These additional three points mean that Portugal will certainly qualify for the knockout phase of Euro 2024.
