Two Red Cards, Juventus Beat Napoli 2-1

Juventus posted a 2-1 victory over Napoli in the Italian League advanced 2018/2019 at the San Paolo Stadium on Sunday (3/3). Two Juventus winning goals were created by Miralem Pjanic (28 ‘) and Emre Can’s header (39’), while the replies from the new hosts were created in the 61st minute by Jose Callejon.

The match involving the top two teams in the Italian League standings occurred at the closing of the 26th giornata. The match takes place quite balanced by taking turns attacking and producing opportunities. Speaking of attacks, Juventus actually lost by just releasing six shots, while Napoli 21.

Things changed when Napoli had to play with 10 people. In the 25th minute Juventus pressing forced Kevin Malcuit to give Alex Meret a pass, but the weak pace of the ball made the ball grabbed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s effort to shake Meret was successful, but the football megastar fell because there was a footstep in the Napoli goalkeeper. Referee Gianluca Rocchi then issued a red card to Meret.

After replacing Arkadiusz Milik with David Ospina, Napoli conceded. A free kick for a violation to Ronaldo that Miralem Pjanic executed slid smoothly into the Napoli goal.

Napoli almost equalized in a short time but Piotr Zielinski failed to meet the target.

Losing the number of players does not make Napoli lose the attack. Il Partenopei visited the Juventus penalty box several times with threats from Zielinski, Fabian Ruiz and Lorenzo Insigne.

Many times to secure the goal of Napoli’s attack, Juventus successfully added advantage in the 20th minute. Emre Can’s header completing Federico Bernardeschi’s cross changed the score on the scoreboard.

Four minutes into the second half, Juventus also had to lose one player after Pjanic got a second yellow card after touching the ball with his hand.

Playing with a 3-4-2 formation, Napoli continued to try to catch up and the efforts of the new host fruitful goals in the 61st minute through Jose Callejon. Loreno Insigne’s bait into the penalty box was struck by Callejon.

Continually attacking, Napoli had another golden opportunity in the 83rd minute. The referee judged Alex Sandro to touch the ball with his hand in the penalty box. Insigne’s penalty execution was endless because the ball hit the goalpost.

2-1 score lasted until the fight broke up, Juventus packed three points from home to Napoli and widened the distance in the standings. La Vechia Signora now has 72 points, while Napoli remain second with 56 points.
