The WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is in talks with WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk for a unified heavyweight title fight at the end of the year.
Usyk earned a split-decision win against Joshua in Jedah, in Saudi Arabia, retaining all his belts against Joshua, whom the Ukrainian dethroned last September with a unanimous-decision win.
If the fight between Fury and Usyk accepted, this will be the most expensive heavyweight boxing show in history.
According to reports, if Fury and Usyk fight, they will each earn at least US$ 60 million. Depending on the state of television sales and sponsorship calls, the fee for two men could reach US$150 million USD.
Fury is keen to fight the Ukrainian after winning his anticipated rematch with Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night.
“I’ll be honest, guys, after watching that, both of them were s****. It was one of the worst heavyweight title fights I have ever seen; it was bulls***.” Fury said.
“Send me and I’ll take Usyk’s belts, as I did with another Ukrainian fighter. But the money won’t be cheap.
“If you want the best, you have to pay a huge amount. Take the money and the checkbook, and I’ll take over all the stations from Usyk.” Fury added.
The Gypsy King defended the WBC title against Dillian Whyte in April but was claiming he had packed it in after the fight.
Usyk has insisted that he wanted a fight with Fury to become undisputed world heavyweight champion.
“I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet. I’m convinced he wants to fight me, and I want to fight him. If I’m not fighting him, I don’t want to fight again.’’ Usyk said after the rematch’s night.
