UFC Bosses and Stars React to the Death of Phenomenal Young Fighter Victoria Lee

Dana White and UFC stars have also reacted to the death of the phenomenal young fighter Victoria Lee. The world of mixed martial arts (MMA) received sad news with the death of 18-year-old female fighter, Victoria Lee.

Victoria Lee’s death was conveyed by her sister who is also an MMA fighter, Angela Lee, on Sunday (8/1/2023). Angela uploaded a photo of Victoria Lee on Instagram and explained that her sister passed away on December 26 last year.

“On 26 December 2022 our family experienced something no other family has experienced. Hard to say this. Our Victoria passed away,” wrote Angela. However, in the upload, Angela did not reveal the cause of her sister’s death.

Angela Lee, who currently holds the ONE Championship atomic weight belt, only advised everyone to take care of their families and loved ones. “Please give us your prayers and respect for our family during this most difficult time. And please, check on your loved ones. Keep checking on them. Give them a hug and tell them how much they mean to you. You never know,” concluded Angela.

The departure of Victoria Lee who died in Hawaii left deep sorrow in the MMA world. This is because the American teenager is considered one of the brightest prospects in the mixed martial arts arena.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boss Dana White and the stars of the prestigious MMA event also mourned the death of Victoria Lee. Through the story feature on his personal Instagram, Dana White re-shared a photo of Victoria uploaded by the ONE Championship account with the caption “RIP (rest in peace) Victoria Lee”.

Meanwhile, UFC fighters left sentences of sorrow and sympathy in Angela’s uploads. “Sending love to all the family,” wrote former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway. The same thing was done by the female fighter who holds the UFC flyweight champion belt, Valentina Shevchenko. “My deepest condolences to you and your family, Angela,” Shevchenko wrote. Apart from Max Holloway and Valentina Shevchenko, former UFC champion Henry Cejudo and other MMA fighters also sent their condolences and support to Victoria Lee’s family.

Victoria, who was born in Waipahu, Hawaii, on May 17, 2004, is considered one of the most potential young fighters in MMA today. The Chinese-Singaporean-Korean girl made her ONE Championship debut in 2021 against Sunisa Srisen. At that time, she managed to overthrow Sunisa Srisen via rear-naked submission in the second round.

Victoria then clinched wins over Wang Luping and Victoria Souza to build a 3-0 record in MMA. The young fighter, nicknamed The Prodigy, is scheduled for his fourth duel on January 14 in ONE Championship. However, fate said otherwise. Victoria Lee died before returning to the octagon.
