The UK Anti-Doping Agency has responded to former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury criticism over the continued delay on his case.
UKAD admitted that they are keep working hard to solve the problems faced by Fury since he’s been under the investigation.
“In response to public comments mad by Mr Tyson Fury, we wish to claify the status of the charges it is issued against him and Mr Hughie Fury on June 24, 2016.” UKAD said in a statement.
“The proceedings to determine the charges against the athletes are taking place before the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP), which is responsible for hearing anti-doping conflicts in UK sport. The NADP operates in accordance with its own procedural rules, and it is fully independent of UKAD.
“From the beginning, UKAD has pushed for decision of the charges as quickly as possible and has invested significant resources in trying to reach this. There are different reasons why, neverthless, the chargses have not been heard on the merits.” UKAD added.
The 30-year-old British boxer on Sunday urged the UK Anti-Doping Agency to quickly take a decision in the case against him.
“Let me be condemned or blamed, but I have been in uncertainty for far too long. Clear my name and let me return to my past glory.” Furry wrote on his twitter.
“How long must I be held up and kept out of action? It’s been 15 months since I’ve been under investigation, you’re keeping an innocent man from fulfilling his destiny and from providing for his family.
“Anyone other than me would be auditioned in a few months, why am I being treated differently? Either ban me or set me free as I’ve been in limbo for a long time! I want to move on my life!” he added.
