Venezia coach Paolo Vanoli believes Jay Idzes and the team will give their best performance in the second leg of the playoff semi-final match against Palermo, Saturday (25/5/2024).
Vanoli understands the ambition of the players who are hungry for victory even though they have won the first leg. Apart from that, the opponent’s quite challenging factor also makes the players not want to lose and appear with great enthusiasm to host their opponent at home.
“I am sure that all my players, even those who will enter the ongoing match, will give 110 percent,” said Vanoli as quoted on the club’s official website.
Even though he understands the great desire of Idzes cs, Vanoli reminded his team to maintain their mental health and maintain good team organization.
In the first leg, Venice won thanks to a single goal from Nicholas Pierini. Vanoli doesn’t want to be complacent about the positive results in the first leg at home to his opponent, especially as coach Michele Mignani on the other side has experience appearing in the playoffs.
“I expect Palermo to use a more offensive style compared to Monday, their coach has experience in the Playoffs and knows how to handle moments like this well, that’s the reason why we have to maintain our focus,” said the former Parma and Fiorentina player.
The presence of spectators is also considered to make the team even more enthusiastic, but Vanoli also reminded the players to keep their emotions in check.
“It will be great to have the support of our public, when you enter a stadium cheering and clapping, you have to stay balanced and manage your emotions, which is a great strength,” he explained.
