Vinicius Junior said that La Liga did not take any action after he was subjected to racism in the Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid match. Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Junior, is again a victim of racist speech.
Last September during the Madrid derby against Atletico, the Brazilian winger also received racist chants from the home fans who were outside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. Most recently, Vinicius Jr. became a victim of racism in the Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid match in Week 15 of the Spanish League, Saturday (31/12/2022).
Vinicius was the target of racist acts by the home fans in the match which was held at the Jose Zorilla Stadium. In the video circulating on social media, a group of home fans can be seen cheering on Vinicius as he walks behind the goal. In fact, it appears that objects were thrown at the 22-year-old player. IT is reported that someone threw the word “monkey” at Vinicius.
After the incident, Vinicius made harsh criticism of La Liga. Through uploads on Instagram Story, the player who is familiarly called Vini said that La Liga had not taken any action to prevent racism.
“Racism continues to exist in stadiums, and a close look at the biggest clubs in the world, and La Liga continues doing nothing,” Vinicius wrote. “I will carry on with my head held high and celebrate my victory with Madrid. In the end, it was my fault,” he added.
Colored by a racist incident against one of its flagship players, Real Madrid managed to bring home a 2-0 win over host Real Valladolid. Two of Los Blancos’ winning goals were bought up by Karim Benzema in the 83rd minute via a penalty kick and in the 89th minute using Eduardo Camavinga’s pass.
These results had made Real Madrid rise to the top of the 2022-2023 Spanish League standings with a score of 38. However, Los Blancos then had to drop to second place after being shifted by Barcelona. Even though they were only able to achieve a 1-1 draw against Espanyol, Barcelona has the right to return to the top position armed with a goal difference advantage over its rival.
