Waiting for Haaland ‘Magic Boy’ Stop Munich Domination

Borussia Dortmund’s magical boy, Erling Haaland, has the potential to stop Bayern Munich’s dominance in the Bundesliga.

Der Klassiker, which will be held at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday (5/26), could be the moment of Dortmund to cut the distance with its rivals. With a note, Die Borussen won three points in this fight.

Dortmund are still four points adrift of leaders Munich. The opportunity to cut the gap is wide open in the big match against Munich.

This season, the team nicknamed The Black and Yellows have complete conditions to compete in the hunt for the Bundesliga title. Including having Haaland, a potential young boy who has no fear.

Haaland was only 19 years old, but his talent and mentality matched world-caliber strikers Robert Lewandowski in Munich.

Haaland, who just joined in Dortmund since January, immediately caught the attention. Why not, the teenager from Norway has packed 10 goals in 10 appearances in the Bundesliga.

Haaland’s goal productivity helped push Dortmund’s place in the Bundesliga standings. They are now only four points adrift of Munich, the ruler of the top of the standings.

Dortmund certainly hopes that the former RB Salzburg player’s savagery continues in the face of Munich tonight. Moreover, Dortmund is the host status in this edition of Der Klassiker.

Haaland became a byword after being able to make a hat trick when diving debut in the Champions League with RB Salzburg. The magic luck did not stop the third change in the Dortmund uniform.

The blonde-haired player is able to look consistent every time given the confidence of the coach. In fact he was able to score a goal when he fell from the bench.

In total, this season Haaland has packed 41 goals for Salzburg and Dortmund in all competitions. The same number of goals with Munchen Lewandowski nicks.

It’s too early to compare Haaland and Lewandowski. A young player who has just tasted the German Bundesliga starting five months ago.

While Lewandowski, 12 years older than Haaland, has been poor across the Bundesliga. Four seasons with Dortmund and a six-year walk with Munich.

The Polish player also did not hesitate to break into his former club, Dortmund, at Der Klassiker. In total Lewi has scored 18 goals against his former club.

No doubt, Lewandowski and Haaland will be in the spotlight at Der Klassiker. Both are the mainstay to score goals on the front lines of each team.

However, Haaland’s most anticipated action. His goals are badly needed by Dortmund to secure three points in a home game.

It’s just that, Munich is not an arbitrary team. They have world-class defender Jerome Boateng, Benjamin Pavard.

The sharpness of Haaland will also be tested by Germany’s number one goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer. However, the Leeds-born striker has scored goals in the Champions League, including when he met with big teams like Liverpool, Napoli, to Paris Saint-Germain.

To be sure, instinct Haaland goal is needed when facing Munich. At least, the action of the Bryne dropout is expected to damage the concentration of the opponent’s defense to open a gap for Jadon Sancho or Raphael Guerreiro to score.

Dortmund coach Lucien Favre is likely to demonstrate the attacking game from the early minutes. And, Haaland will be relied on to trouble the opponent’s defense for an important victory to keep the Bundesliga champions hopeful this season.

Der BVB also has a big ambition to avenge defeat in the Bundesliga. At the first meeting, Dortmund was forced to surrender 0-4 at the Munich headquarters.
