Dewa United Esports has announced a new roster and coach to compete in the MLBB Professional League Indonesia (MPL ID) Season 15 competition on Thursday (27/2). One of the most interesting is of course the presence of Watt who will fill a different role this season.
Dewa United Esports has appointed former veteran professional MLBB player, Supriadi ‘Watt’ Dwi Putra, to fill the coach’s seat. Watt will replace Raymond ‘Raizan’ Tandrian who chose a new career with the Chinese team.
Dewa United Esports management appointed Watt as coach because of his long experience in the Indonesian MLBB esports scene. Before deciding to retire, Watt was known as a professional player with high mechanical skills who had competed in MPL Indonesia since the first season. This former professional player from Pontianak had joined several well-known teams such as NXL, ONIC, Aerowolf, Louvre, GPX, until finally landing at Dewa United Esports.
Serving as a coach for the first time in MPL ID is not easy, even for a former veteran player of Watt’s caliber. The competition in MPL ID is getting tighter every season, where each team has different strengths and strategies to achieve victory. Facing these challenges, Watt remains optimistic that he will be able to bring Dewa United Esports to compete in MPL ID S15.
“I am personally optimistic that Dewa United Esports with this new roster can fight in MPL ID S15 as long as they show courage and good cooperation. The key is to lower your personal ego and focus on team play,” said Watt.
When asked about the target, Watt said he wanted to bring Dewa United Esports back to qualify for the playoffs. Not only that, Watt also has a long-term target to bring Dewa United Esports to the MPL ID grand final.
“The short-term target is to qualify for the playoffs first, because the last two seasons have not had the opportunity to qualify. While the long-term goal is to bring Dewa United Esports to qualify for the MPL ID finals,” said Watt.
