Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes revealed three things that the Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, taught him.
Bruno Fernandes admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo was one of his idol footballers. When playing together in the Portugal national team, Bruno Fernandes also recalled the warm welcome given by Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He has always been an idol and role model for me. He is one of my favorite players,” Fernandes said. “When I was called up by the Portugal national team, he came up to me saying, ‘You did a good job at Sporting, I like it’. Those words made a difference for me,” Fernandes added.
Fernandes, brought in by Manchester United in January 2020, was transformed into a new public idol for Old Trafford. The former Sporting CP player had a significant impact on Man United, especially in the 2019-2020 English League.
In the five English games that Fernandes has played, the Red Devils have never once lost a defeat. Fernandes openly admits that there is a role for Ronaldo in his current career.
According to Fernandes, CR7 has provided three significant lessons for him. “Cristiano Ronaldo is the ideal person for you to see and know what to follow in terms of career,” Fernandes said. “You must have the focus, determination and ability to work,” the 25-year-old continued.
Man United brought Ronaldo in the summer of 2003 as an unknown player. Ronaldo became a popular figure at Man United by bringing the Old Trafford camp to win three English League titles.
Ronaldo also helped Man United win the Champions League final in 2008 against Chelsea. On May 21, 2008, Manchester United won the Champions League 2007-2008 season. Portugal national team superstar Cristiano Ronaldo opened Manchester United’s lead in the 26th minute with a superb header.
Ronaldo was seen flying through the air before grabbing Wes Brown’s pass with his head to be directed into Petr Cech’s goal. According to Fernandes, it was a great match because Ronaldo looked impressive.
“I think it was a great final and Cristiano’s best match. He scored an incredible goal with a header. He didn’t jump, he flew,” Fernandes said. “After that, he failed to execute a penalty, but Man United won the Champions League and he cried because he won the trophy,” continued Fernandes.
