Another twist has emerged surrounding the Mcgregor vs Mayweather fight as to why the champion boxer has really come out of retirement.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s reasons for returning to the ring have come under question on The Countdown, a podcast hosted by UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and Luis J Gomez, especially just how cashed up he really is.
The boxing superstar, although worth a reported $US650 million, has been mocked for his nickname, with Bisping claiming he isn’t as rich as he says he is.
“I was talking to someone in Las Vegas and I heard that Floyd recently got scammed out of a lot of money,” Bisping said.
“The number was very, very big. I don’t think Floyd needs the money, but he wants to replace this money that he got swindled out of.”
Reports suggest that the Mayweather and Mcgregor fight will be scheduled for somewhere around the middle to end of this year, with both fighters set to become very wealthy men.
The bout itself could reportedly make a staggering $100 million, with Mayweather pocketing the majority share.
“Both guys stand to make a s***-tonne of money out of it. I’m all for it to be honest. I’m looking forward to seeing it and I’m all for everybody making money, so good for them”, Bisping said.
