Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed he plans on retiring from mixed martial arts. However, his father does not agree – he believes that he will have to leave after two or three fights.
But “The Eagle” is UFC’s biggest money generator, and the fact that he tends to surprise fans with the fights he takes, and we’ve got plenty of possibilities for the Russian superstar.
Tony Ferguson
Ferguson against Khabib is one of the headline clashes planned for UFC as the promotion looks towards a fight-filled 2020. And UFC president Dana White insisted that next year could be one of the biggest years for UFC with its stacked roster of talent.
Ferguson’s unorthodox style and especially his submission game makes this ever so interesting. He rolls around, hits elbows from the bottom position, does crazy submissions like the darce choke.
Georges St-Pierre
The UFC legend may return to the octagon. Georges St-Pierre’s manager believes that this will be a historic battle and just a grand show – and at the same time more box office than any other possible rivals.
St-Pierre is a better striker with a longer reach. The Canadian is also a master strategist, so he’ll find a way to keep the fight on the feet where he has the significant advantage.
Conor McGregor
Khabib won in a dominating and devastating fashion. He made Conor McGregor look like a no-name unranked amateur with poor conditioning in their first match. The most shameful thing out of the whole fight, though, was the McGregor’s disrespectful and asinine behavior before the fight.
The rematch will be very different in our mind. We saw a highly motivated, healthy and peak Khabib doing what he does best to an over confident, rusty McGregor. Most importantly we saw a game Khabib not able to finish a non peak “The Notorious”.
Khabib chalked up his 28th professional MMA victory when he successfully defended the lightweight championship against Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 in September.
