French Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais told their striker Alexandre Lacazette could leave the club at this summer and he has now confirmed his intension to depart. And to replace Lacazette, Lyon would have as a priority a player to succeed the striker.
“I think that’s the right time,” Lacazette told the media. “I want to discover something else, and to play a different level. I know very well that on a European scale I am not yet well recognized. I want to see if I can answer the questions that people are asking, and to make further progress.” he added.
When asked about potentially linking up with Antoine Griezmann in Spanish La Liga, the Frenchman admitted he was excited by the prospect.
“Yes, it would be a beautiful story if we could play together,” ‘Lacazette said. “Atletico Madrid is great team, in a new stadium, and it is also a club that makes the players progress.” he added.
During this season in Ligue 1, Lacazette has established himself as ne of the best striker on the continent. He has scored 128 goals in 284 games since his Lyon debut in 2010.
According to the report, Atletico Madrid have made signing a new striker their priority this summer and they are set to go head-head with English Premier League clubs Arsenal, with the 25-year-old star their primary target. The report added, Lyon is set to sign Spanish La Liga clubs Atletico Madrid star Kevin Gameiro and Ajax Amsterdam’s Bertrand Traore as their primary target this summer.

Gameiro, however is not the only track currently dug by Lyon, they are also discussing Bertrand Traore. The Burkina Faso striker, who was able to move along the line as on one side, shone during his loan in the Netherlands with 13 goals and 6 assists in 38 games.
While Chelsea wants to lend Traore once again to Ajax Amsterdam, the player would prefer a loan. If the Blues accepted, the player could cost between 10 or 15 million euros to Lyon. These are priority target of Lyon to replace Lacazette, which should yield about 60 million euros to the club.
