CEO of Bayern Munchen, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, revealed the reason why Bayern Munich always failed to get Juergen Klopp.
Juergen Klopp has become one of the most successful coaches in recent years. After successfully winning the Champions League title with Liverpool in the 2018-2019 season, now the German coach brings the Reds to embrace the 2019-2020 English League trophy.
Klopp’s success in winning the English League title was special. The last time Liverpool won it in the 1989-1990 season or 30 years ago.
Karl-Heinz Rummenige then congratulated the German coach. According to him, Klopp is a coach who has great ability in gathering a team. “I pay my respects and say: Congratulations for Liverpool,” Rummenigge said, as reported by Sportskeeda.
“Klopp is a great coach and people are very respectful of him. He is not a coach who is arrogant or talk about how great he is,” he continued. Furthermore, he later said the reason his club could never bring Klopp to the Allianz Arena. The 64-year-old explains that every time Bayern Munich needs a new coach, Klopp is always under contract with another club.
However, Rummenige stressed that FC Hollywood never lacked great coaches. One of them Hansi Flick who is currently coach of Munich. “Every time we look for a coach, Klopp is always under a contract. But don’t forget that we also have top coaches in recent years, like Jupp Heynckes, Pep Guardiola, Louis van Gaal and now Hansi Flick,” he said.
After winning the Premier League, Klopp has earned himself icon status at Anfield. Nonetheless, he now faces the tough task of maintaining current European champions for the next season.
With more glory being eyed by Reds fans, few would be happy if and when the day comes that Klopp is looking for a new adventure elsewhere. Having spoken about his plans, however, the German insisted he has no idea what lies in store in the future.
“In the order which I’d like to do it: I want to coach the German national team, then Bayern Munich, then back to Dortmund and then Liverpool for life,” he joked. “I really have no idea. I hope for now that the next two or three years will continue in the same way and then I’ll decide. Everything is possible – maybe I’ll just stop completely.”, Klopp added.
