You might be wondering why you should try the game. Futsal attracts many football players to indoor grounds, as well as other athletes looking for a new game.
To play futsal, there are five players on each side. The ground is smaller than a soccer ground and is played on a hard surface that measures 25-42 m long x 15-25 m wide.
There are no walls – just lines. The futsal ball is smaller than a soccer ball, creating much less bounce.
It remains the only FIFA-sanctioned indoor game.
- Futsal players often credit the game with increasing their skill and technique. Since there are no walls, you’ll be forced to work on ball control and touch.
- Futsal players have a much smaller team with only five opponents on the ground, which means they must learn to work with each player at a higher level.
- For the same reason as above, each player gets more touches on the ball and starts working on their footing skills at a much higher rate than in a normal 11-man game.
If the ball isn’t at your feet because there are only four other teammates, you’re still forced to be ultra-focused on the game because the ball could come back to you at any moment.
Players must make quick decisions to keep the ball in play. There is constant excitement as the game is faster than regular soccer and often has higher scores, keeping even the most spectators entertained.
Futsal is an indoor version of soccer with some important differences. On the one hand, the court runs down the traditional ground, has no walls on the sides, and is next to a basketball court.
We’re sure you can come up with countless other reasons to play, but we think the above are all great reasons to get you excited and start playing.
