Arsenal have had three consecutive matches in the Premier League and Champions League and have not tasted victory again. This clearly makes Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta worried and hopes that his troops can quickly recover from this negative trend.
Most recently, Arsenal lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich in the second leg of the 2023-2024 Champions League quarter-final at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Thursday (18/4/2024). Joshua Kimmich (63′) ensured Die Roten – Bayern Munich’s nickname – won.
The defeat to Bayern Munich ensured that Arsenal’s progress in the Champions League this season was stopped. Because Martin Odegaard and his friends lost 2-3 on aggregate to Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, after the match, Mikel Arteta said that the entire coaching staff and management had to rebuild the trust of the Arsenal players. He said everyone must be able to raise the enthusiasm of the players by providing support.
“We have to be close to the players. What we have to do is stand beside them, give them our support and love,” said Mikel Arteta, quoted from Sky Sports, Saturday (20/4/2024).
Then, with the defeat to Bayern Munich, Arsenal again failed to win in their last three matches in all competitions. In the last three matches Arsenal were only able to get one draw and two defeats.
Seeing this condition, the Spanish coach said Arsenal had to get up, because there was a big match to be played. Mikel Arteta hopes Arsenal can overcome their failure in the Champions League to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“We have to get up because we have a very big match on Saturday (English time). We really want it and we have to show that we can turn things around,” continued Arteta.
“We have to go through the pain tonight and tomorrow, get up and perform with the same attitude as we did here, and hopefully we can beat Wolves,” he concluded.
Arsenal will visit Molineux Stadium, the headquarters of Wolverhampton Wanderers, to play the 33rd match of the 2023-2024 Premier League on Sunday (21/4/2024). Currently, Arsenal is in the race for the 2023-2024 Premier League title and victory in the next match will maintain their hopes of remaining in the competition.
