People on Thursday night saw big news by MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi confirming his retirement at the end of the 2021 season. WorldSBK riders react to the news the legend is leaving MotoGP.
Here are some of their best reactions
Kawasaki Racing Team Jonathan Rea Gets Emotional
“I’m really happy and really sad because it’s nice that he’s made peace with this decision. He seems really happy and he’s got a great future ahead of him and a lot of years to live.” Rea said.
Honda Team HRC Alvaro Bautista Full of Praises
“I think all the words you say yo Valentino is very short no because he’s probably a legend. I remember that when I was a child I saw rising him in television. For me Valentino more than rider.” Bautista said.
A Message Pata Yamaha Andrea Locatelli
“For me he is one of the best riders in history. He makes something crazy and something that is in the history. For sure he’s the best rider ever but I’m so happy for him that he quit.” Locatelli said.
Rossi is undoubtedly one of the best riders ever to grace the sport. Owing to some crashes from still inexperienced former his team mate Jorge Lorenze, the Italian rider clinched his 9th title in 2009.
“I’ve decided to stop at the end of this season so unfortunately this will be my last half-season as a MotoGP rider.” Rossi said.
“It’s difficult. It’s a sad moment, because it’s difficult to say and to know that next year I will not race with a motorcycle. I’ve done this for more-or-less 30 years! So next year my life will change.
“But anyway, it was great. I enjoyed it very much. It was a long, long journey. Really funny. 26 years in the world championship. I’ve had unforgettable moments with all my team and all my guys that worked for me.” he added.
