Xavi Hernandez has tightened the rules on social media for Barcelona players. In total, there are three new rules imposed by the coach.
Previously last year, Xavi Hernandez had imposed 10 rules that Barcelona players must obey. The 10 rules aim to assist him in getting the club back on track to success.
Before Xavi joined, the Blaugrana were ranked 12th in the Spanish League. But at the end of the season, with Xavi’s rules, they could finish second.
Xavi wants to restore the old mentality for his squad filled with new players. He also provides three new rules to ensure they don’t go back to their old ways.
Firstly, players have been prohibited from using Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or other social media platforms while taking part in team activities. In addition, they must refrain from posting any images or opinions that present a bad image of Barcelona.
Lastly, there are financial issues. All squad members will be fined 10 percent of their weekly wages for not participating in club-related advertisements or promotions.
Last year, there were a number of rules such as, players had to arrive 90 minutes into practice starting, and all staff had to arrive two hours before the session started. All players must also eat at the club’s training ground.
Xavi also fined players for breaking the rules and increased if they were repeated. The players are also required to comply with the curfew, which means they must return home before midnight two days before the match.
Xavi also insisted that the players give everything in training. Even now their activities are closely monitored. Barcelona is currently second in the 2022-2023 La Liga standings with an unbeaten run from four matches. They also beat Viktoria Plzen 5-1 in their 2022-2023 Champions League opener.
