Manchester City coach, Josep Guardiola, welcomed the appointment of Xavi Hernandez as Barcelona’s new tactician. According to him, Barcelona will soon rise from the current bad condition because Xavi clearly knows what the team needs.
As is known, Xavi Hernandez has just been introduced as the new coach at Barcelona. As a former coach who was successful at Camp Nou, Guardiola believes that his former teammates are able to revive the Blaugrana – Barcelona’s nickname.
Guardiola himself took the time to come to Xavi’s welcoming ceremony at Camp Nou, Monday 8 November 2021. At that time, he also expressed his hope to his team who will carry the burden of resurrecting El Barca.
According to him, the former Barcelona midfielder and coach already knows the ins and outs of what the Blaugrana needs. On the other hand, Guardiola assesses his foster children have high dedication and quality to revive Barcelona.
“With his class, dedication and effort, I’m sure he will improve the club’s situation,” said Guardiola.

Furthermore, the appointment of Xavi as coach of the Catalan club is believed to be very appropriate. According to him, Xavi must have received support from many parties, including the president of Japan Laporta, and his fans.
“If Joan Laporta and the board voted for Xavi, then it’s because there are millions of pros and few cons,” he explained.
