Through his Instagram, Xavi said his farewells and admitted that he was proud to have been the coach of the club he loved. “On Sunday, my time on the Barca bench will end. It’s never easy to leave a club that’s been part of your life, but I’m very proud of it, after two and a half years leading a dressing room that’s been like a second family,” said Xavi.
Xavi also expressed his gratitude to Barcelona fans. He also remains grateful that even though Barcelona failed to win this season, they have developed young players at La Masia (the club’s academy) to be prepared for the Blaugrana’s future.
In addition, Xavi Hernandez gave a message to Barcelona’s new coach. He said that only victory could be a salvation. Xavi ended his tenure at Barcelona after the match against Sevilla in the final week of the 2023-2024 Spanish League. This victory was also a farewell gift for Xavi, who was fired from Barcelona on Friday (24/5/2024).
Barcelona will soon announce a new coach in the next few days which will most likely be Hansi Flick. European transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, revealed in his writing on the X social media platform that an agreement had been reached and Hansi Flick was contracted for two years.
Xavi also conveyed a message to whoever will fill the next Barcelona coaching bench. He asked the new coach to be patient because it is not easy to coach Barcelona. Moreover, the club is in a difficult situation, especially regarding financial conditions.
“Let him know that he is facing a difficult situation. Barcelona is a difficult club, but the economic situation is also unfavorable,” said Xavi as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. “The new coach will suffer. Be patient because this club is not easy.
