According to Yahoo Sports, the 29-year-old midfielder managed to collect as much as US$277,575.90 during the 2022 World Cup. That amount of money was a bonus that he got thanks to his success in leading the Moroccan national team to the semifinals.
However, Ziyech will not use the money for his personal gain. The Chelsea player chose to donate the money to the poor in his country. “Of course I will donate my earnings to poor people in need,” said Ziyech. “I didn’t choose to defend Morocco for money. I made that choice from my heart,” said the player born in Dronten, Netherlands.
Hakim Ziyech was one of the Moroccan players who made an impressive appearance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. During the tournament, Ziyech, was always coach Walid Reragugui’s first choice. From seven appearances at the 2022 World Cup, Hakim Ziyech was able to score one goal and one assist.
