Lionel Messi Underestimates Mauricio Pochettino

Lionel Messi reportedly underestimated the quality of coaching the tactician at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Mauricio Pochettino. According to Sportbible’s report, this view arose because Lionel Messi was annoyed that Mauricio Pochettino seemed to be poor in tactics.

In the last few matches, PSG’s performance has decreased. In the last two matches in the 2021-2022 French League, PSG only got a draw.

Minor results were also obtained by PSG in the last two matches in the 2021-2022 Champions League. After playing 2-2 against RB Leipzig, Les Parisiens – PSG’s nickname – fell 1-2 to Manchester City.

That’s right, PSG have qualified for the last 16 of the 2021-2022 Champions League. However, PSG certainly failed to finish as group winners. Automatically, PSG has the potential to face strong teams in the round of 16 of the 2021-2022 Champions League such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Therefore, rumours emerged that PSG would bring in a French coach, Zinedine Zidane, as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor. According to the Daily Record, the Qatari Emir and PSG owner, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is interested in making Zidane the PSG coach.

No wonder Zidane is the target. Because, the 49-year-old coach is believed to be able to complete the desire of PSG officials to see his favourite team win the Champions League trophy.

Since Qatar Sport Investment (QSI) bought PSG in 2011, the Champions League trophy has been the target. Unfortunately, the Big Ears trophy was never reached.

(Zidane is a strong candidate for the next PSG coach) So far, PSG’s best achievement is reaching the final in the 2019-2020 Champions League. Unfortunately, at that time, PSG lost 0-1 at the top of Bayern Munich.

At the same time Zidane is familiar with the Champions League trophy. When dealing with Real Madrid, Zidane led Los Blancos – the nickname of Real Madrid – to win the Champions League three seasons in a row.

Reportedly, in order to complete the mission above, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani prepared a unique step. He will appoint Arsene Wenger to help Zidane work with PSG later.
