2022 Pre-Season Trial Results: Gabriel Jesus Contributes One Goal, Arsenal Beats Everton 2-0!

The results of the 2022 pre-season trial between Arsenal vs Everton were known on Sunday (17/7/2022). Competing at the M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, United States, two Premier League teams clashed with each other in a test match.

The result is quite satisfactory for Arsenal. The Gunners (Arsenal’s nickname) managed to crush Everton’s resistance with a score of 2-0. One of the new Arsenal players, Gabriel Jesus, managed to contribute one goal in the 33rd minute. Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka scored one more goal (36′).

The course of the match

First round

As the first half began, Arsenal immediately stepped on the gas to attack the Everton defence area. However, Nuno Tavares’ shot in the 1st minute with his left foot could still be blocked. The Gunners troops also failed to open the tap of his goal.

Meanwhile, Everton also did not want to lose in threatening Arsenal’s defence. Precisely in the 6th minute, Mason Holgate tried to pass the ball forward. Unfortunately, Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the spearhead had to be caught offside.

This time, Arsenal got a golden opportunity through Granit Xhaka in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, the ball still hit the Everton goal post with a header after receiving a pass from Cédric Soares. The position has not changed, it is still 0-0 for both teams.

The match went back to being quite exciting. Both Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and Everton under Frank Lampard are still fighting tactics. Both tried to attack in order to get the opening goal. However, until the 30th minute, each team still found a deadlock.

After getting a number of opportunities, Arsenal this time successfully broke into Everton’s goal. It was Gabriel Jesus (33′) who scored his first goal with a right footed shot after receiving an assist from Cédric Soares. The position changed to 1-0 for the Gunners.

It didn’t take long for the Gunners to double their lead through Bukayo Saka (36′), after receiving an assist from Gabriel Martinelli. The score was changed to 2-0 for Arsenal until halftime.

Second Half

Entering the second half, both the Gunners and the Toffees both overhauled their troops. Both teams made a number of changes in order to increase the pounding power. No exception, Arsenal replaced its star, Gabriel Jesus, with Rob Holding.

The game continued, Everton took the initiative to take over the game. Frank Lampard’s team immediately gave a threat to Arsenal’s goal. However, Salomón Rondón’s effort in the 46th minute with his powerful shot was still saved by the Gunners goalkeeper. Instead, Arsenal conducted an experiment in the 73rd minute through Eddie Nketiah.

Unfortunately, the shot with his left foot can still be blocked. The score hasn’t changed, it’s still 2-0 for the Gunners. Until the 85th minute, no additional goals were created. In the Everton camp, instead of creating an equalising goal, a number of players actually got a yellow card.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are still trying to add to the coffers of his goals. However, a number of opportunities that Eddie Nketiah and colleagues got still could not be converted into goals. Until the second half ended, the score 2-0 was still standing for Arsenal’s victory.
