4 Reasons Messi Will Move to PSG

The transfer saga of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is believed to be realized in the upcoming 2021 transfer market. There are several factors that confirm that La Pulga, nicknamed Lionel Messi, will move to PSG. One of the most commonly known is Lionel Messi’s contract which expires on 30 June.

His future with Barcelona is unclear as Messi does not appear to give the signal to extend his contract at Camp Nou. This seemed to reaffirm Messi’s desire to finish his story with Barcelona. Hence, European clubs are reportedly trying to bring in La Pulga, Messi’s nickname.

One club that is reportedly very desperate to sign Messi is PSG. The well-known French media, L’Equipe, also believes so. Les Parisiens, the nickname of PSG, are reportedly ready to bring Messi and pay sky-high salaries. Understandably, the French giant is one of the richest clubs in the world, even though currently their financial condition is also being disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, it is reported that PSG will continue to hunt Messi.

Les Parisens, as many sources have reported, has indeed emerged as the leading club to sign the Argentine superstar. This is accompanied by several factors that strengthen the potential for Messi’s arrival to the Parc de Princes, PSG’s home. Launching from L’Equipe, here are four reasons that make Messi a great opportunity to leave Barcelona to PSG.

1. Lionel Messi Will Not Extend His Contract

Messi is believed not to extend his contract at Barcelona. The reason is, Barcelona’s financial condition is currently on the line. Seeing the megastar’s sky-high salary, Barca will not be able to pay Messi.

Moreover, Blaugrana has a debt of 1.2 billion euros. Therefore, Messi is likely to leave to save Barcelona from bankruptcy.

2. Desire to play with Neymar

Again Another factor is that Messi wants to play with Neymar again. In fact, Neymar who is at PSG has openly stated that he wants a reunion. The issue of Neymar’s return to Barcelona which had blown in the 2019-2020 season is also another indicator of the two’s close relationship.

It is like showing that Messi misses the grass and the same shirt as Neymar. Messi can also be persuaded to go to PSG because there are many compatriots in the Argentina national team. The names are Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, and the coach of Les Parisiens, Mauricio Pochettino.

3. Messi and PSG Have Been in Negotiations

L’Equipe also said that Messi and PSG had negotiated before the current rumors escalated. However, this news was denied by Messi’s agent and father, Jorge, but the truth is still unclear until now. This reason is another strong indicator of Messi’s move to PSG at the end of the season.

4. Kylian Mbappe Will Leave

One of the players who is likely to leave PSG as Messi arrives is Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe since last season has always been linked with news of a move from PSG. The news is increasingly spreading after the 2018 World Cup winner has not extended his contract with Les Parisiens. Mbappe’s contract will expire in 2022. According to various sources, PSG is trying to extend its star’s tenure.

Because, if his contract is not extended, Mbappe has the potential to leave Paris at the end of this season or the January 2022 transfer market. If Mbappe leaves PSG in the summer of 2022, that means he will leave on a free transfer and Les Parisiens will not earn a dime.
