4 records that can still be Pursue by Liverpool in the Premier League

Liverpool can still break four records by serving the remaining seven matches in the Premier League this season. Here are four records that Liverpool can break.

Liverpool successfully ensured the English Premier League title after Manchester City lost to Chelsea. After becoming the Premier League champion, there are still four records that can be pursued by Liverpool.

Here are four records that Liverpool can pursue in the Premier League:

1. Most number of wins

The record for most wins in a season is held by Manchester City with a record of 32 wins in the last two seasons. Currently Liverpool have pocketed 28 wins at hand.

With seven matches left, Liverpool only need four wins to break the record.

2. Most home wins

The record for most home wins in a season is held by Chelsea (2005/2006), Manchester United (2010/2011), and Manchester City (2011/2012 and 2018/2019) with a record of 18 wins.

Liverpool have won 16 home matches so far. If Liverpool manages to win in the remaining three matches, Liverpool will break the record as well as being the only team capable of winning all home matches in one season.

This ambition is itself challenged because every home game takes place without an audience due to health protocol in the face of a corona pandemic.

3. Champion with the most Difference Points

Manchester City currently holds the record as champion with the most points difference from second place. Man City have a 19 point advantage when it won the 2017/2018 season.

Currently Liverpool are 23 points ahead of Manchester City with seven matches left. Liverpool’s duel against Manchester City next week is an important determinant in Liverpool’s efforts to break this record.

If Liverpool can beat Man City, the point difference will be widened to 26 points while increasing the chances of Liverpool ending the season with a difference of 20 points or more.

4. Record points

Another Manchester City record that Liverpool can break is the points record. Manchester City holds the most points record in the history of the English Premier League with a score of 100 points.

Liverpool only need 15 additional points, aka five wins from seven matches remaining to break the record.
