7 Premier League Clubs Fighting For Three Champions League Tickets

Seven Premier League clubs will compete for the remaining three Champions League tickets next season.

From the calculations on paper, only Manchester City have confirmed tickets to the Champions League next season. West Ham United’s maximum points, which are currently in fifth place, are only 73 points, so it is impossible to catch up with Man City.

Thus, there are still three other ticket slots that will be up for grabs. Manchester United itself has a good position in second place at the moment.

Although it is difficult to catch Man City in the race for the title, Man Utd is at least in a better position in terms of hunting for Champions League tickets.

Man Utd has a collection of 66 points, 11 points ahead of West Ham United who are in fifth position. Thus, Man Utd only need an additional eight points to lock one Champions League ticket in their hands.

The third position is currently occupied by Leicester City. The Foxes has a collection of 59 points. Even though they have a difference of four points over fifth place West Ham United, Leicester’s position is not completely safe.

Every mistake Leicester will immediately take advantage of by the teams below them.

Competition is even more tense when considering the difference in points between Chelsea, who is currently in fourth place, and Everton, who is in eighth position. Chelsea and Everton are only six points away but Everton still have one game more left.

Thus, Everton might close the distance and make the point difference to just three points.

Between Chelsea (55 points) and Everton (49 points) are West Ham (55), Tottenham Hotspur (53) and Liverpool (53). The competition for Champions League tickets will be very tight.

The competition will feel tight in the last six matches because the losing party in the Champions League zone also does not automatically qualify for the Europa League.

Two teams among the teams above will not be able to qualify for the Europa League because they are outside the top five.
