Thiago Officially Join Liverpool

Midfielder Thiago Alcantara officially joined Liverpool this season after being recruited from Bayern Munich, Friday (18/9).

Liverpool’s official website says Thiago is contracted for a long duration. But the British media reported Thiago signed a four-year contract at Anfield.

Thiago is the Reds’ second signing this season after Konstantinos Tsimikas. Thiago admits moving to Liverpool has been a moment to look forward to, and he is very proud of his decision.

“As the years go by, you try to win as much as possible, and when you win, you want to win more,” Thiago was quoted as saying from Liverpool’s official website.

“I think this club also describes who I am. I want to achieve all the goals, win as many trophies as possible,” added Thiago.

Thiago admitted that one of the reasons for moving to Liverpool was the family factor that was built up in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

“Because we [like] to have a very close relationship with the club, and I think, I will feel this. I will have this feeling, with this club too,” said the 29-year-old midfielder.

Thiago moved to Red Merseyside after helping Bayern Munich to the treble in the 2019/2020 season. In total, last season Thiago played for the German League giants for 40 matches.

The player who played for the Munich shirt for 7 seasons also has 39 caps for the Spanish national team.

Thiago Alcantara sent a farewell video to Bayern Munich after agreeing to join Liverpool. Thiago uploaded the farewell remarks via his Twitter account.

Reported by the Mirror, the former Barcelona midfielder thanked and goodbye to The Bavarian.

“I will close this chapter at an extraordinary club, this is where I grew as a player for seven years,” said Thiago.

Thiago said he could not turn down the challenge offered at Liverpool. Although he also cannot forget the achievements during the Munich costume.

“Victory, joy and difficult times,” he said.

“But what I’m most proud of is, I arrived in Munich as a young man full of dreams and now I will go completely with the club, history and culture,” he said.

This Brazilian midfielder from Spain said he learned many things as a footballer with Die Rotten.

“Here I learned to love a tradition, which I now say goodbye to, but which I will never forget ‘Mia San Mia’.”

“I had fantastic times in this city, on the Sabener Strasse (training ground) and at our beloved Allianz Arena. With my family in Bavaria who treats me very well and loves me every second,” said Thiago.

Thiago revealed that his decision to move to Liverpool was purely because of football.
