Arsenal managed to beat Sheffield United by a score of 3-0 in the Premier League match at Bramall Lane Stadium, Sheffield, Monday (12/4).
When the game had only been running for two minutes, Arsenal was able to threaten the Sheffield goal through Saka’s hard kick. However, Saka’s shot still bounced over the opponent’s goal.
In the 8th minute it was Sheffield’s turn to threaten Arsenal through David McGoldrick’s cheat. However, McGoldrick’s kick was still slightly off the left side of Bernd Leno’s goal.
Arsenal again gave a threat to Sheffield in the 24th minute. This time through Martinelli’s kick, but it was still off the left side of the Sheffield goal.
In the 32nd minute, Arsenal’s attacking effort finally paid off. Alexandre Lacazette’s cheat from inside the penalty box managed to bring Arsenal 1-0 ahead.
In the second half, Sheffield United tried to have more possession of the ball in an attempt to dismantle Arsenal’s defense. Meanwhile, Arsenal, who appeared solid, chose to rely on counterattacks.
Arsenal again threatened the Sheffield goal in the 55th minute through Lacazette. But unfortunately, Lacazette’s shot from outside the penalty box was off the left side of the Sheffield goal.
The Gunners managed to increase their lead to 2-0 in the 72nd minute through Martinelli’s cheat.
Not finished there, in the 85th minute, Arsenal successfully widened the lead to 3-0 through Lacazette’s second goal after continuing Thomas Partey’s pass. Score 3-0 for Arsenal’s victory lasted until the game ended.
The victory saw Arsenal jump up to ninth place in the standings with 45 points, maintaining their hopes of reaching the European qualifying zone.
Meanwhile, Sheffield, who are increasingly sinking at the bottom of the standings with a collection of 14 points, are in danger of being relegated if they swallow one more defeat.
In the next match, Arsenal will host Fulham at the Emirates on Sunday 18 April 2021, a day after Sheffield had a life and death match at Wolverhampton headquarters.
However, before that Arsenal will first fly to the Czech Republic to play the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final at the Slavia Prague headquarters.
