Manchester United managed to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in the Premier League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, Sunday (11/4).
In the first 15 minutes, the two teams still seemed to have difficulty breaking through each other’s defenses. This could not be separated because of the pressing game that the two teams played at the start of the match.
It was only in the 16th minute that Manchester United opened up opportunities, after Marcus Rashford fired a hard shot from a neat combination with Paul Pogba and Edison Cavani. However, his shot was off the left side of the Tottenham goal.
In the 34th minute, Manchester United actually managed to break the deadlock through Edison Cavani’s cheating to continue Paul Pogba’s pass.
However, the goal was thwarted by VAR after Manchester United’s Scott McTominay was found guilty of fouling Son Heung-Min before Cavani’s goal.
The situation turned around, Tottenham managed to take the lead in the 40th minute through a goal scored by Son Heung-min after continuing Lucas Moura’s pass. Tottenham also successfully closed the first half with a 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, Tottenham and Manchester United played an attacking game with a fast tempo.
In the 57th minute, Manchester United’s attack paid off. Fred successfully scored a 1-1 equalizer after a neat combination with Cavani and Paul Pogba.
Six minutes later, Manchester United again threatened by Bruno Fernandez. However, Fernandez’s hard shot was pushed over by Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
In the 72nd minute, it was Tottenham’s turn to endanger Manchester United’s goal through Harry Kane’s hard kick. Luckily, Harry Kane’s shot was blocked by Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
In the 79th minute, Manchester United won 2-1 over Tottenham with Cavani’s flying header following Mason Greenwood’s pass.
However, in the 84th minute, Cavani came close to scoring an own goal after his header headed home for a corner for Tottenham. Luckily, Cavani’s header hit the Manchester United goalpost.
In the 90 + 5 minute, Manchester United managed to increase the advantage through Mason Greenwond’s strike. Manchester United also successfully closed the match with a 3-1 win.
